Christchurch Neighbourhood Plan Moves to Regulation 14 Consultation Stage

The Christchurch Neighbourhood Plan has reached an important milestone – the draft plan is now ready for you to read and share your views.

This stage is called a Regulation 14 consultation, which means the community has the opportunity to review the draft plan and provide feedback before it is formally submitted. Your comments are vital to ensure the plan reflects what matters most to Christchurch residents.

Following Full Council approval on 19 November, the public consultation will begin on Monday, 24 November, and run until Sunday, 25 January 2026.

You can read and download the Draft Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents on the Neighbourhood Plan website (see The Plan section).

Prefer a hard copy? Printed versions will be available at various locations, including Christchurch Library, Regent Centre / Tourist Information Centre, Red House Museum, Somerford ARC, Hall on the Hill and other local community halls.

How to Have Your Say

There are several ways to take part in the consultation:

  • Online: Complete the consultation form at this link – it’s quick and easy.
  • In Person: Pick up a paper form from the locations above and return it to Christchurch Town Council, Old Town Hall, 30 High Street, Christchurch BH23 1EA.
  • Drop-In Sessions: Join us in one of our drop-in sessions in January to share your views or complete the survey with our team:
    • Saturday, 10 January 2026 – Hall on the Hill (10am-2pm)
    • Thursday, 15 January 2026 – Somerford ARC (10am-1pm)
    • Saturday, 17 January 2026 – Christchurch Library (10am-3pm)
  • Email: Send your comments to neighbourhoodplan@christchurch-tc.gov.uk.

If you have any questions about the draft plan, the consultation process, or where to find hard copies, please contact us at neighbourhoodplan@christchurch-tc.gov.uk or call 01202 022478.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and shaping the future of Christchurch together!

St Catherine's Hill Community Hall

Volunteers needed to join the committee
St Catherine's Hill Community Hall was opened in 2001 and has served the community of St Catherine's Hill and Jumpers ward. Run by an enthusiastic committee and caretaker, it overseas maintenance, cleaning and fundraising. It liaises with the hirers who run a wide range of activities from Friendship Groups, Art, Yoda, Pilates, Embroidery, Dance, Role-playing and Brownies. Organisations such as Parkinsons, and the Women's Institute also use the Hall. As such, the Hall occupies an important place in the community of St Catherine's and Jumpers. We need and would welcome more volunteers to assist with fundraising and administration, as gradually, some of the present members are retiring. Should the committee become depleted it would be difficult to continue and the prospect of having to hand the Hall back over to the landlords, BCP Council, would have to be considered. Please contact either of us, by text, telephone or email.
