Home-watch
We’ve made contact with the Home-watch co-ordinator and he is going to
start sending us their alert messages. We will put them on the website
and will also forward them on to residents that are potentially
affected by them.
Meet the new Chief Executive
A date for your diary: on Thursday 27th
October at 7.30pm at The Hall on the Hill,
Marlow Drive, David McIntosh the new CBC-East Dorset Chief Executive
will be attending our public meeting.
If there’s an issue you would like him to address please let us know by
1st October
To clear or not to clear – that is
the question
Should residents clear snow from (a) their own driveway and (b) the
pavement outside their house? Some say no – if you touch it you can be
sued if somebody subsequently falls over. Others say that’s an old
wives’ tale – you should do the neighbourly thing.
Given the summer we’ve just experienced we decided to prepare for
winter and to ask CBC for a legal opinion which, after some
consideration, they gave. You can read the whole thing on the website www.wcresidents.co.uk
but the essence of it is – don’t clear it away. If you do and somebody
then falls over they can sue for compensation if they can prove you
were negligent – and who needs that to cope with on top of everything
else.
Pretty Pictures
In preparation for the public consultation on the management plan for
St Catherine’s Hill we’ve taken some photographs of some of the key
features that the plan will address. They are accompanied by a short
commentary that highlights the main points of interest. You’ll find
them on the website www.wcresidents.co.uk
Whilst we were taking the snaps we spied local folk throwing acorns
over the south side of the hill (where ARC chopped down all the trees).
Can’t imagine what that’s all about.
It’s all happening
