An Apology
If this is the
first Newsletter you have received we apologise for the length of time
it has taken to set your details up. This was caused partly by demand
being far higher than we expected and partly by a very sad event.
Terry
Morgan
We have to
report the unexpected and sudden death of Terry Morgan who organised
these mailings and other computer based activity for us. His enthusiasm
and energy will be badly missed. One of the lessons learned in coming
to terms with the aftermath is to always ensure that somebody else
knows your passwords.
We have set up a new website that you can find at www.wcresidents.co.uk
(as noted opposite the site will be improved over the coming weeks but
we must now record our thanks to Eileen Lancaster for stepping into the
breach and achieving so much in such a short time).
Thanks
to Councillor Sue Spittle
We of course we
will give you an update on local events at the public meeting described
opposite. However, in that context we must thank the local resident who
called in The Health and Safety Executive and Councillor Sue Spittle
for taking up the cudgels on our behalf with them and The Forestry
Commission following the felling of the trees on the back slope of St
Catherine’s Hill.
We have received many letters and phone calls of complaint and ARC are
in no doubt what most of you think about this topic, whilst the
Forestry Commission has told them they have certainly breached the
spirit of their licence. This may prove to be important as negotiations
over the future of the hill progress.
Meeting
The New CEO
On your behalf
we held a meeting with the new Chief Executive of the merged
Christchurch-East Dorset administration together with his two Strategic
Directors.
We are pleased to say that appropriate lines of communication with the
new administration have been set up. We have also agreed on a yearly
informal meeting to discuss local issues and our continued involvement
in the annual budget talks.
With the benefit of your feedback to us through your e-mails this will
enable us to keep the needs of the local council tax payer to the fore.

Our Web Site
We had some technical problems with our old web site and have
had to overcome them by creating a brand new site.
You can find it at:
www.wcresidents.co.uk
The site is still being developed but you will find some useful stuff
there. Not least the minutes of our last management meeting, which will
help to keep you up-to-date
Meet Your Councillors
Don’t forget
that we have a public meeting at The Hall on the Hill,
Marlow Drive on Thursday 24th February.
A representative from Bournemouth Airport will
be telling us how they see the next 5 years, local
Councillors will be there as will the 2011
Census organiser for our area, Geoff Fardell, to
answer your questions.
And of course we will give you a snapshot of events since the last
meeting in October, including the latest
negotiations on the trees of St Catherine's Hill
